Tami Zawistowski, Republican Candidate for Connecticut State Representative, 61st District
Dear Friends and Neighbors:
I’m running for State Representative because we need more good jobs to help grow our economy, and tax relief
so that all our citizens – from young adults and families to seniors – can enjoy our state’s fine quality
of life and prosper.
Connecticut at one time had one of the highest standards of living in this country. We have a history
of invention and entrepreneurship that once created well-paying jobs and has fostered a remarkably skilled
workforce. Connecticut was - and to some degree still is – home to businesses that made amazing
products. Innovation is in our DNA.
But now, our state is ranked consistently near the bottom of the nation for economic
competitiveness, and near the top for the cost of living and the cost of doing business. Our young people
are leaving the state for better opportunities and a lower cost of living, in many cases followed
by their parents.
We have some businesses that are thriving, but many more that are struggling to survive. And we still have
lots of people with great ideas. We just need to keep them here. They are the ones who will create
our state’s jobs, drive economic growth, and ensure a bright future for our next generation.
We can cut spending, cut taxes, and bring back good jobs and a vibrant economy. Reducing
taxes and regulatory burdens for all businesses – not borrowing money to reward a chosen few – will encourage
job creation and benefit everyone. Reducing taxes on individuals will keep more money flowing into
our economy. Easing mandates on municipalities will allow our towns to make decisions based on their
specific needs rather than in response to one-size-fits-all state dictates.
I promise to work hard for the people of this district and bring some common sense back to
Hartford. Please contact me with your thoughts and concerns. I hope I can count on your
support – and your vote on Friday, April 11th.
Paid for by Tami Z for the 61st 2014. June Cameron, Treasurer. Approved by Tami Zawistowski.
